Home Sweet Home – How To Buy A Home In San Diego
The first step in buying a house is to identify a lender. Once you get qualified for your home loan, it’s time to find yourself a Realtor! Your lender is the best source for a referral as they work with many agents around the area and will know one that is well qualified to help you with your search. Many people think that they can simply look online and visit open houses to find their perfect home. However, a Realtor is someone who will guide you along the purchasing process by helping you search for homes both online and offline, and will negotiate your offers with the listing agents. Your lender and your Realtor are your BEST FRIENDS when it comes to buying your new home so do not be afraid to ask them questions as that is their job to guide you and assist you every step of the way!
The Search
The search these days can become daunting with the low inventory and the multitude of other buyers, but will definitely be worth it once you find your dream home! It is important to be patient and to align yourself with an aggressive buyers agent, and an aggressive lender so that you don’t miss out on the opportunity to make your offer. If you like the home, make the offer, because the competition right now is stiff!
The Search is Over
Once your offer is accepted, it will all be worth the search! Prepare for a 30 day escrow, and often times even shorter. Note that the more involved you are in the process, the faster it will close. A lot of times buyers take vacations in the middle of escrow, or leave towards the end. Just note that the more time you, as the buyer, take to get the lender your items during the process, the more delays it could cause in the funding. And lastly, don’t forget to have fun! This is a process and an experience, how you view it is everything!
